Job Summary:

This position has primary responsibility for helping Brinks Global IT Shared Services deliver on our value of Continuous Improvement by supporting the deployment of Lean Management Methodology throughout the Global IT organization. The role will also be instrumental in leading and supporting major process improvement and transformational initiatives that have broad impact within and across regions. The individual will deliver these results by providing detailed instruction and guidance on corporate initiatives, providing advanced facilitation, management, and administration of Lean related principles, tools, and values and supporting the training and development of key IT leaders within Brinks.

Key Responsibilities:

Builds Lean culture and capabilities within Brink’s Global IT Shared Services organization

  • Partners with key leaders within Global IT and Lean Champions to build Lean culture and capability at all levels of IT and support an ongoing program of continuous improvement
  • Standardization: establishes environment in which standard work is the basis for continuous process improvement
  • Responsible for individual Lean Leader certifications including providing or coordinating coaching necessary for individuals to achieve certification
  • Applies standard “Learn / Do” approach in coaching/mentoring leadership teams; teaching others will be one of the most important duties for this role
  • Facilitates key Lean activities – lead and facilitate Lean/process improvement based workshops to drive ideas and solutions. Will support corporate functions in conducting Kaizens, Value Stream Mapping, Visual Management, 5S, A3s, etc. to advance continuous improvement culture
  • Behavior-based leadership: uses Influencer methodology to drive change management success at all levels of the IT organization
  • Take ownership of change initiatives from evolution to project delivery to measuring results
  • IT-wide adoption and standardization

Serves as program manager to deliver on strategic IT initiatives

  • Partners with IT leaders and their teams to implement strategic projects
  • Ensures that all key stakeholders timely information, deliverables and execution per program schedules
  • Acts as the highest point of escalation for Lean program issues within Global IT
  • Regularly reports to Corporate Lean Leadership and Operational Excellence Council on program execution and KPIs

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in process optimization, business management, IT operations and/or implementing Lean/Continuous Improvement programs for IT organizations
  • The ideal candidate will have experience and a track record for successfully executing strategic projects, from start to finish, in complex operations and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to champion and utilize LEAN principles and tools to solve problems, reduce waste, improve profitability, quality, performance and create alignment
  • Experience in deploying Lean in non-operations AND operations environment
  • Experience training IT leaders on LEAN and Continuous Improvement
  • Experience successfully facilitating Lean activities that lead to demonstrated, quantifiable results. Experience serving as a program and/or project manager for large, complex, cross functional initiatives
  • Experience presenting and communicating to senior leaders regarding program status
  • Proven ability to successfully drive cultural change at various levels across an organization

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Lean Leader/Six Sigma certification and training
  • Strategic, analytical and problem solving mindset
  • BA/BS degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain/Logistics, Engineering or related professional field; commensurate direct experience in lieu of degree will also be considered.
