Analytics and Reporting Senior Engineer/Developer-Power BI Service

Job Description

We are looking for an Analytics and Reporting Senior Engineer/Developer, with the specialization in Power BI Service. The successful incumbent will engage in the full development life cycle of a data warehouse, data marts and the implementation of reports and dashboards to enable more effective strategic, tactical and operational insights the enterprise data.

This role is also responsible for technical implementations, troubleshooting, and configuration of reports and reporting products (i.e. Power BI). As we are looking to migrate out of Tableau to Power BI Service as our new reporting platform. This role would require analyzing and understanding the existing Tableau reports and convert them into Power BI reports with industry's best practices. This includes workspace organization and controls, scalability for user and data volume, and flexibility for future enhancements.

This is a remote position.

Responsibilities:

  • Translate business needs to technical requirements specification.
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to determine requirements, estimate level of effort, and implement solutions for data analysis and reporting.
  • Design, develop, build, and deploy scalable BI Reporting solutions - Reports, Dashboards, Visualizations
  • Maintain and support reporting platforms, and reports & dashboards.
  • Adhere to full SDLC process throughout, including the analysis & design documents, change control process and necessary documents for audit and compliance.
  • Evaluate and improve existing reports and dashboards as a continuous process/delivery improvement.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, business or another relevant field.
  • At least 4-5 years of extensive experience with Power BI Service technology in creating and maintaining reports/dashboards/visualizations for enterprise customers.
  • Proven experience in building enterprise level reporting platform & architecture using Power BI Service
  • Proven experience handling and optimizing complex SQL queries.
  • Experience with diverse set of data technologies for reporting source: SQL Server, Snowflake, Oracle, Excel Source, MS SharePoint, etc.
  • Background in data warehouse, data mart design and implementation
  • Experience in building and maintaining data marts from data lake-house, to build needed reports and visualizations.
  • Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work across multiple projects with competing priorities and deadlines
  • Experience in migration of reports from Tableau to Power BI Service
